 Scholarship Information

The first three scholarships awarded by the Carole P. Bizzack Memorial Foundation to students in Fayette County were made in the spring of 2007. The foundation will again award three scholarships in 2008 to graduates of Lexington’s local high schools who plan to dedicate their college studies to the fields of animal science or veterinary medicine.

Notice of acceptance of applications for 2008 scholarships will be mailed to high school counselors in March 2008. Counselors are encouraged to notify qualified students about the existence of these scholarships so they may contact the foundation or visit the web site, fill out an application on line or print out the application and mail before the deadline on March 31, 2008. The foundation board will review all applications (see Scholarship Information Sheet link on this page for qualifications and more specific information about the process) and then select three students to receive this year's scholarships.

A notification letter will be sent to the students selected, their parents and high school counselor. Scholarships will be awarded at the end of the 2008 school year after recipients provide documentation as to their enrollment in an accredited college or university.

Recipients of scholarships are eligible to receive future scholarships from the foundation.

All applications must be accompanied by the Foundation documents required (obtained from the links appearing on this page).

 A Note of Thanks

I wanted to write and thank you for awarding me with the scholarship.  It really means
so much to me and my family.  I wanted to take time to thank you for setting up such a
wonderful scholarship program in Mrs. Bizzack’s honor.

I hope to make your family proud by furthering my education and becoming a vet in the future.  I hope in future years you help others like me to encourage the love and care of animals.

Regan Hooper
2007 Award Recipient

The Carole P. Bizzack Memorial Foundation gave me the first opportunity to further my education towards my goal of becoming a veterinarian.  I hope that future students will be given the same start towards their path of education.

Jared Noffsinger
2007 Award Recipient

Our lives are so profoundly touched by the compassion and dedication of a remarkable woman.  It’s an immense honor that Jared, who has aspired to work with animals for as long as I can recall, was selected to receive this scholarship.
